What's going on?: Alison is an extremely bright and sweet girl who, unfortunately, is also extremely hypercritical of herself and often feels like she is an outsider (even though she is loved by so many). These feelings of overwhelm have seemed to intensify now that she's graduating from a highly sexist program and will soon enter a highly sexist workplace (engineering). Sometimes I feel that she tries to limit herself and her talents to avoid pushback from others, and as her sister I hate to think that she's dimming her light in anyway. She deserves to shine as bright as she can and to be as happy and as at ease as possible because she's one of the best humans I know.

What do you love most about this girl?: I love that despite all that she has been through and how much she has grown, she has never lost touch of her youth. She's a talented artist, a forever fan of everything Disney, and is such a loyal, thoughtful person. There's a reason why she still has best friends from elementary school. I also love how she's not afraid to have diverse interests - she loves Lucille Ball and black and white movies; she makes short films in her free time; she plays videogames (impressively well); she through-hikes and rock climbs for fun; and she's obsessed with Broadway soundtracks. Although she may lack some self-confidence, she's actually extremely brave and open-minded.
