What is a Write Night?

Write Nights are groups of girls/women gathering to write to those needing encouragement. We provide the letter requests - all we need from you is a group with a heart for service, some kind of paper/pens, and stamps!

Our Write Nights really come in all shapes and sizes. Here are a few examples of groups that have led Write Nights so far in 2023:

  • Community clubs like Key Club, Girl Up, Girl Scouts, and Girls on the Run

  • Sororities and college groups

  • Celebrations around birthdays, Bat Mitzvahs, Friendsgiving, Galentine’s Day, International Women’s Day, and Mother’s Day

  • Companies hosting within their work meetings or as a way to give back

  • Friends and family who want to do something fun and meaningful together

Write Nights can be done virtually or in-person.

Antsy for more information? Here is what our process for a Write Night typically looks like — no two Write Nights are the same:

  1. We’ll send over promotional materials, letter writing templates, and other digital resources.

  2. No more than 72 hours before your event, we will send over eligible requests that are most fitting for your group. You will let us know who you want to select from that list prior to the start of your event. This helps us release those requests to other writers.

  3. If you want volunteer management, we’ll work with you to create the event on POINT and share the link to your attendees to manage their volunteer hours & involvement with TLP.

  4. Have your attendees mail their letters directly to our P.O. Box within 1 week. We’ve found that Write Night hosts that collect the letters at the end of the event & mail them immediately have the greatest success!
